Travelling from the UK for dental care involves two connected decisions: the treatment itself and how the appointments will fit around your life at home. Start with an assessment and a written explanation of the options. A package description or photograph cannot establish which teeth need treatment.
Use the consultation checklist to collect your questions. Ask whether keeping an existing tooth, monitoring it or choosing a less extensive restoration is an option in your case.
Compare the same work in each quotation
A useful comparison separates the dental work from the travel arrangements. If you have a UK quotation, ask the clinic to explain differences in the proposed teeth, procedures and materials before comparing totals. A lower headline price can describe a different plan.
- Request the tooth numbers, treatment stages and exact restoration or implant system.
- Confirm the currency, payment stages, exclusions and how a revised plan would be priced.
- List flights, accommodation, local travel, additional nights and any second visit separately.
- Ask which reviews are included, who provides them and what would incur a further charge.
Arrange UK advice before you book
The General Dental Council recommends speaking to your own dentist before considering treatment abroad. Registration, supervision and complaint processes vary by country; confirm the relevant arrangements for each person providing care.
Share your dental history and ask what records may help the Istanbul assessment. Let the treating team know about existing restorations, medication and any previous difficulties with dental treatment.
Plan the appointment sequence around work and travel
Ask for an outline of the proposed appointments before purchasing tickets, including the point at which the schedule will be confirmed after examination. For staged treatment, record what is intended for the first visit and what has to happen before returning.

Understand the London aftercare connection

Before the final appointment ends, check that you understand your written instructions, planned reviews and whom to contact with a concern. Your next dentist should be able to identify the treatment already completed and the next planned stage.
